Even if you’re one of those rare people who can manoeuvre in the tightest of spaces with complete ease while others watch on, you’ll still be enthralled by the optional Park Assist function. Park Assist doesn’t just identify suitable parking spaces; it even steers you into them.

Will your Volkswagen fit in that gap or not? The optional Park Assist function uses sensors to measure both sides of the street as you drive past, thus finding you the ideal parking spot. When you switch on your indicator, the system recognises which side you want to park on and starts the parking process. Park Assist steers your car automatically into parallel and lateral parking spaces and parks the vehicle, within system limits, even in the tightest of spots. All you have to do is operate the accelerator and brake pedals. The handy assistant can even manoeuvre your Volkswagen back out of a parallel parking space. Nevertheless, you remain in control of your vehicle at all times.

Enjoy excellent vision with excellent design. LED headlights are not just standard on the Passat Highline equipment variant because of the economic advantages: they can be ordered as an option for the Passat Trendline and Comfortline. LED headlights are characterised among other things by a large light volume, long life, a daylight-like light spectrum and low energy requirement. They are optionally available with cornering lights and LED daytime driving lights for all equipment variants. But what makes the LED headlights on the Passat unusual is their design: it gives the Passat a dynamic and brand-typical light signature. The innovative night design of the modern tail lights with LED technology changes when you brake. Above all, there is one other thing in addition to an improved signal effect: a design feature that makes your Passat unique.

You can use voice commands to operate many infotainment system functions particularly quickly and simply. If you prefer, you can operate the optional Discover Media and Composition Media devices with voice commands.

The optional Discover Media and Composition Media infotainment systems will read your wishes from your lips. If you want, the systems can recognise your voice and follow your instructions. Name a place and a street, for example, and the Discover Media will calculate the route. If a phone is connected, you can call people in your phone book by simply saying their name. Voice control allows you to keep both hands on the steering wheel and concentrate completely on the traffic around you.

The wonderful sound of the optional DYNAUDIO Confidence sound system will let your passengers enjoy the music. You will experience high-end sound perfection in the whole interior through the exact coordination of the 12 loudspeakers.

DYNAUDIO is one of the most successful manufacturers of high-end loudspeakers. Musicians, sound engineers and audio perfectionists have trusted the Danish brand since 1977. They appreciate the natural sound reproduction that allows you to hear music close to the original – just as it was recorded.

The optionally available DYNAUDIO Confidence sound system with twelve loudspeakers including centre loudspeaker and subwoofer as well as a total output of 700 Watt ensures a fantastic sound experience. A digital 16-channel amplifier with DSP (digital signal processor) can regulate the sound so that an optimum sound stage is created on every seat. Thanks to four different sound profiles, you can choose whether you want to listen very quietly or want to understand spoken language well.

You can choose to stay contactable even while driving. The optional Comfort and Business phone interfaces allow you to keep both hands on the wheel and your mind on the road.

Never miss another call, while always keeping your mind on the road. Volkswagen’s optional phone interfaces make it easy and convenient to make phone calls while you drive. High-quality sound is assured, thanks to a digital speech processor, an integrated high-end microphone in the ceiling and speakers specially designed for the vehicle. Connection to the external aerial ensures optimal reception even when the signal is poor.

You can make calls with voice commands or have text messages read out so you are not distracted while driving. A Bluetooth® connection allows you to playback music from your mobile phone on the Passat audio system.

With the Comfort edition, you connect your mobile phone to the external aerial via an inductive aerial connection in the centre armrest. Your mobile phone is in good hands here, so there’s no need to buy an additional mobile phone cradle.

With the Business version, you can make a call outside the car, then transfer it to the hands-free system via Bluetooth® (you will need a Bluetooth®-enabled  mobile phone with an rSAP - remote SIM access profile). The system can be operated by voice command, the multifunction steering wheel or the infotainment system. Alternatively, you can also place an additional data SIM card into the slot in your infotainment system. Finally, the integrated WLAN hotspot allows you and your passengers to use the Internet on the road.

The renowned iF Design Award, presented by the iF International Forum Design GmbH for over sixty years, is considered to be a seal of approval for outstanding design across the world. Receiving the iF gold award in the “Product” discipline is therefore a great honour for the Passat Saloon, which even achieved the coveted highest score in the “Automobiles/Vehicles/Bikes” category. A high-profile jury with 53 members from 20 countries summed up enthusiastically: “Reinterpreting such a classic brand requires a great deal of sensitivity. We were fascinated by the consistency in the sense of ‘form follows function’ with which the pure and expressive design language has been applied throughout the whole concept, in both the interior and exterior. The VW Passat unites minimalism with strong detailing. Practical use is combined with the highest level of elegance.” Nothing needs to be added there.

You are spoilt for choice. The extensive selection of wheels gives you the opportunity to give your Passat an individual character. The Comfortline equipment variant is, for example, available as standard with the attractive Sepang alloy wheels in the size 6.5 J x 16, the Passat Highline shines with the sporty London wheels in size 7 J x 17. The 19-inch Verona alloy wheel from the Volkswagen R range is slightly more filigree and thus very stylish and can be ordered as an option for the Passat Highline. The Volkswagen R engineers also developed the optional 18-inch Monterey alloy wheel, which features a dynamic 10-spoke design and can also be ordered for the Passat Comfortline. The range is rounded off with the 17-inch Soho, Nivelles, Singapore and Salvador wheels and the 18-inch Dartford and Marseille. There should definitely be something to suit your taste.

The massage function that is available for the heated ergoComfort seat ensures a high level of seat comfort. The driver’s seat conveniently adjusts to your body shape, thus relieving the strain on your back.

In the Passat, you sit comfortably and in a position that is good for your back – in the Comfortline and Highline equipment variants as well as in the Passat GTE and Passat Alltrack in particular, which come with an ergoComfort driver’s seat as standard. This seat can be adjusted in many ways so that you can adopt an ergonomically supported seat position and thus relieve your spine. As an option, you can order an electrical 14-way adjustable ergoComfort driver’s seat with memory and massage function. The pack includes electrically adjusted, foldable and heated exterior mirrors with puddle lights, front passenger side exterior mirror with mirror down function and an automatic dimming function on the driver’s side.

Both seat variants were awarded the independent “Tested & Recommended” quality seal for healthy back products by the German charity Aktion Gesunder Rücken (Campaign for Healthy Backs).
