With optional driving mode selection, you can decide how you want your car to drive according to the situation and your personal needs. Choose your driving mode by pressing the button or touching the infotainment system screen. Powertrain, steering, transmission (with DSG dual clutch gearbox) and even the headlights are automatically adjusted. Of course, you are also free to enjoy the standard comfort settings – just select Normal mode to do so.

The optional Blind Spot Monitor warns you, within system limits, about vehicles in your blind spot. Rear Traffic Alert screens the area on either side of your car when you reverse out of a parking space.

As soon as another vehicle enters the blind spot, an LED indicator in the wing mirror warns the driver of the potential hazard. If the driver activates the turn signal nonetheless, the LED becomes brighter and flashes to alert the driver to the danger. The optional Blind Spot Monitor operates at speeds of just 15 km/h or above.

Rear Traffic Alert aids drivers, within system limits, whenever they reverse out of a parking space. It uses sensors in the rear bumper to monitor traffic passing at the rear of the vehicle. If the car comes too close to another vehicle, the driver is alerted via an audible warning and a visual warning on the display of the sound/navigation system. If the driver fails to react, the system can mitigate or even prevent an imminent collision by applying the brakes.

Climatronic can do a lot more besides: for instance, the blower speed automatically adjusts to reduce noise levels at lower driving speeds. By shifting to automatic recirculation mode when squirting washer fluid or driving in reverse, it also protects the occupants from unpleasant outside smells.
